Looks like a rebranded Altec 1212A powered mixer (smaller version of the 1214A)

i picked one of these up extremeley cheap, 15 bucks , i think..came with the cover and all. scratchy would deffinetly be the term id use as well, probably just needs a little cleaning. the spring reverb is very sensitive, just a floor bounce can set it off. still, all in all very versitile for its time. my daughter uses it with her four track, vocal processor, and mp3 player these days. it'll power some bookshelf speaker very nicely, at times a little too loud actually.

It was - pretty durable, too.
Sounded LOTS better than the Shure "VocalBlaster" from the same era...
